25th Anniversary Spec Racer Ford Celebration
at Road Atlanta
 |
Join us at Road Atlanta April 10-11, 2010!
25 years ago, SCCA Enterprises began development on what
has become the most successful spec race car in America;
The Sports Renault. Three years later the car would
switch to Ford power and become known as the Spec Racer
Ford, or simply SRF. To date there have been over 850
Spec Racer chassis sold and the Spec Racer Ford is one
of the most successful SCCA National classes.
All SCCA Enterprises cars are being showcased:
-
Spec Racer Ford
-
Formula Enterprises
-
Enterprises Sports Racer
-
Sports Renault
-
Shelby Can-Am and more!
The weekend will include double sprint races... one
sprint race Saturday afternoon and a second sprint race
Sunday afternoon... with nearly 4 hours of track time
per group. Spec Racer Fords can run in both the Pro and
Club groups, giving you what will seem like endless
track time as we celebrate your commitment to the car
and to SCCA Enterprises. We also have a test day on
Friday that offers over an hour and half of additional
track time for dialing in your car for the weekend

Race Video
Paul has spliced together a great piece of
video showing the duel between the Jankovskis at Sebring. It
looks great when you play it in high quality mode.

Blast From the Past - 1992 to be Exact
While cleaning, Beau came across some old race result sheets
from Blackhawk that we thought would be fun to share.
Two notes: at this time, the cars were Spec Racers, not
Spec Racer Fords. Also the date for the Carl Mueller Memorial
Race was June 21, 1992 and the Churchill Memorial Race was
August 2, 1992. Lots has changed since then. Oh yes, a third
note, Beau Martin
was actually racing at the time. You'll note a few other
familiar names on the results sheets:
Mike Dirienzo, Tom Van Camp, Jim
Marinangel, Bob Ablard, Lars Lindell and
Augie Pabst III. Guess we're
"dating "a few people...I'm sure they were all in their teens
when they started racing. We also posted the June Sprints
results from 1994, where David Tenney, representing Elite
Autosport won the race.
