Shootout at BlackHawk Farms

Marinangel, Fleck Finish 1, 2 (again!)

Congratulations to Jim Marinangel, Car 5, for his win, and to Dudley Fleck, Car 04, for his second place finish at the BlackHawk Shootout. For those with poor memories, that was also the finish at last year's June Sprints at Road America! Congrats also to David Shapiro, Car 02, for a top 10 finish at a National!  Other Elite drivers finishing well, Mike McCann, Car 38, 6th, David Shapiro, Car 02, 10th; Bob Shineflug, Car 77, 13th, Ruben Garcia, Car 3, 14th; and Lance Mussler, Car 24, 15th.  We also believe, and are awaiting confirmations, that the times turned in by Lance and David were personal bests at this track. An unlucky racing incident claimed drivers Becky Bach, Car 22, and Bill Douglas, Car 7. 

Fleck Wins in Formula Mazda, Ferro Wins in GT2, Douglas Takes 7th in GT1

As if Dudley and Bill weren't busy enough with the SRFs, both competed in other categories this weekend. Dudley was racing Elite's new, hot Formula Mazda, Car 11,(shown above) and he finished in first place. He also had a lap time under the existing track record!!  After the first practice session, the webmistress heard Dudley complaining about not being very comfortable in the car. If this is what he races like when he's not comfortable, imagine how fast he'll be later!! Congratulations also to Jim Ferro, Car 42 Porsche, for his win in GT2 and for Bill Douglas, Car 36, for his 7th place finish in GT1.Too bad racing outside the SRF category doesn't earn any points in the Elite driver contest.
