Beck Wins Division, Anastasi, Dirienzo, Szekeres Go to RunOffs

Well, if you thought a double national just a few weeks before the RunOffs would be wild, you were correct. After the first race, the points championship was uncertain, and several SRF drivers had the chance to participate in the RunOffs, depending on the outcome of Race 2.  And believe me, I have never seen so many math calculations done at a race track before, testing various scenarios. To really throw a wrench into it, it was pouring rain on Sunday and when the race was finally run, it was a wet race! 

And........after the race on Sunday, Jeff Beck, Car 31, won the Central Division points championship, with Jim Marinangel, Car 5, a close second.  Two Elite drivers, Steve Anastasi, Car 2 and Mike Dirienzo, Car 82, made the top 10 and are going to the RunOffs. Kris Szekeres, Car 26, an Elite-Assisted driver, also make the 10 top and it looks like he's going as well. And the Sponsor-Les Racing team, with driver Dave Watson, Car 83, solidified a fourth place points finish and is also going!  Congratulations to Steve, Mike Kris and Dave! Also, congratulations to Becky Bach, Car 22. She just missed the RunOffs through a tie-breaker. Still, it was a great race season for Becky!!!  All this, and I haven't even got to the race finishes!!!!
