Mid-Ohio Run-Offs
 Marinangel Finishes 1st, Dirienzo Finishes 6th in the Division

Jim Marinangel came to the Run-Offs vying for the Triple Crown.  This is a person who wins the division, wins the Sprints and then wins the Run-Offs. Jim was one of 10 people across different car classes attempting to complete the Triple Crown. 

The early qualifying runs for the Run-Offs were wet. Sometimes very wet. It takes heads-up racing to come through the runs unscathed. Mike Dirienzo Car 82, did a lot more than come through unscathed--on the first qualifying run he was 9th fastest and on the second qualifying run he was 4th fastest.  

The final day of qualifying was dry and Mike qualified 14th and Jim Marinangel qualified 15th. The race was quite exciting with several lead changes. In the end, Mike finished 15th and Jim finished 29th. Mike and Jim had great years. As mentioned earlier, Jim won the Sprints and he also won the Mid-Ohio National. Mike had many top 10 and podium finishes. Congratulations to both of them.

Speedvision will be showing the race in November. You'll want to set your VCRs for it since the SRF Run-Offs run on Sun Nov. 18 at 10:00 pm and Sun. (overnight) Nov. 18 at 3:00 a.m. Those times are Eastern, so plan accordingly.
