Webb
Bassick
Webb
Bassick, of Lake Forest, is Chief Executive Officer of
Compensation Strategies, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in
executive compensation. He began his racing career in 1963 with
a neighbor at Lime Rock. In 1997, he began racing an SRF with
Elite Autosport. Webb earned
his first win with Elite this year. See
the photos!
Before stepping into
his red, number 29 SRF, Webb was a very successful S2000 driver.
He earned two thirds and a second in S2000 Championships. In
1995 he took first in the S2000 Race of Champions and earned
another first at the 1996 June Sprints at Road America.
Webb is often accompanied to the
track by his wife Kathy and children Brad, Elliot and Peter.
Other family interests include boating, trains, planes and
skiing.
Bill
Douglas Bill
Douglas is director, manufacturing development for Kimberly-Clark
Corporation in Appleton, WI.
Bill caught the racing bug in
high school when he worked corners at Mid America Raceway,
then "dreamed about racing for 30 years."
Later he became a three-time,
Autocross, F-Stock Tri-State Champion for Arkansas, Tennessee & Mississippi.
Bill began leasing the red 04
SRF from Elite Autosport three years ago. One of the highlights
of his short SRF career happened last year when he qualified
for a starting position on the front row at Blackhawk Farms
Raceway.
Tom Udee
Tom is lab assistant
with the Milwaukee Health Department's Chemical laboratory. On
weekends, he also works for Elite, where he occasionally indulges
his "racing habit." Tom has many trophies for
racing motorcycles and three-wheelers--motocross, flat track,
ice racing and drag racing. He does them all. That's
where Tom's interest in racing started and it eventually led
him to race cars.
He has driven with Elite for two
years and can be seen in the red Elite car. Sometimes its Number
01, sometimes 02, 03 or 04.
He races because, "I love the
rush and have a need for speed. I also love meeting the people
who race," he added. Tom, his wife, Kelly, and daughter
Mieke, who is 3 years old, can often be seen at the track.
Tom's favorite racing memories include
the 24 Hours of Mid-Ohio in 1985, where his team took 3rd place,
SSC. Larry Kraemer and the Bartels brothers were drivers of
the car. A sad note: on April 24, 1999, the Lord told Larry, "The
racecars are in and we're going green." God speed,
L.K.
When he's not driving or working,
Tom enjoys grouse and deer hunting, fishing and doing things
with Kelly and Mieke. |
